Gracie Karl is a woodworker and luthier, currently based in Brooklyn, NY. They graduated from Maine College of Art & Design in 2024 with a BFA in Woodworking and Furniture Design and a minor in Music, before completing an apprenticeship with luthier Jim MacDonald in the Maine Craft Apprentice Program's 2024 cycle. Their work is an exploration of connections and relationships through physical objects, incorporating songwriting, performance, and game design into their larger woodworking practice.

Scrolling vines and vegetation reminiscent of medieval illuminated manuscripts adorn Gracie's furniture, instruments, and carved objects in woodburned surface decoration. These aesthetics reference the long history of board games and the sword-and-sorcery fantasy emblematic of classic table-top role-playing games, celebrating the lasting friendships forged through make-believe and music.
